Pigalle are a group who refused to be pigeon-holed - which is a good job really, because their sound was almost impossible to define! Let's just say Pigalle played a catchy and extremely vibrant mix of rock, punk, folk, java, tango and 'chanson réaliste' … how's that for a post-modern musical melting-pot?
This compilation comprises songs from their four existing albums, their live album and a homage compilation to Piaf and Frehel (two great ladies of French "chanson réaliste") with Frehel's Mon Pauvre Grand. Do try this one-of-a-kind-band lead by one of late 80's and 90's French alternative rock's most prominent figures: the incomparable François Hadji-Lazaro!
