DEAD LINKS

NOTE : DEAD LINKS
We'd like to thank everyone for preventing us of dead links. For the moment, we are note able to re-up them.

Feel free to keep on preventing us of those dead links. We will update them when we (I and Jeb-E-Diah) have more time to (understand : from september). Some of them will be partially or completely repacked considering albums which would have been issued thereafter and surely with new and improved artworks.

Stay tuned !

STEVE REICH (ABO #288)

STEVE REICH
PHASING AND PULSE
.
Following in the footsteps of La Monte Young and Terry Riley, composer Steve Reich is widely considered the third major pioneer of minimalism; credited as the innovator behind phasing -- a process whereby two tape loops lined up in unison gradually move out of phase with each other, ultimately coming back into sync -- his early experiments in tape manipulation also anticipated the emergence of hip-hop sampling by well over a decade.
Baistophe's new collaborator, Diod, came up with this compilation. Rather than a spectrum of Reich's long and adventurous career, it's a striking introduction to the man's work and a worthy addition for anyone who hasn't yet explored his universe.

RIYL:
Terry Riley, Philip Glass, John Cage

No comments on Steve Reich?! C'mon people. This is a great overview of his work. Modern composition, experimental, call it what you will. Marvelous listening.

Can Philip Glass be far behind?

I plan to do Philip Glass sometimes in the future. Problem is I only have about two thirds of his discography so it'll have to wait.
And you're right on Steve Reich, this is, indeed, a great introduction to the man's work.
