DEAD LINKS

NOTE : DEAD LINKS
We'd like to thank everyone for preventing us of dead links. For the moment, we are note able to re-up them.

Feel free to keep on preventing us of those dead links. We will update them when we (I and Jeb-E-Diah) have more time to (understand : from september). Some of them will be partially or completely repacked considering albums which would have been issued thereafter and surely with new and improved artworks.

Stay tuned !

PIERRE MOERLEN'S GONG (ABO#114)

PIERRE MOERLEN'S GONG
TURN THE PAGE
(1973-2002)

No, this baistophe is not a Bob Seger tribute ! Let me explain why I chose that title. Back in 1973, the young band Gong, fronted by Daevid Allen went into internal troubles while discussing about drug use. Some (I won't tell the names) wanting to go on within smoke, the other having another opinion... So for the first time Daevid Allen left the band he had founded letting the remaining band, shortly renamed Paragong have a few gigs during a few months. Then Daevid came back to record the You album (1974) before leaving again. The band kept the name of Gong and turned artistically the page until Daevid founded his own Gong line-up. To differentiate the two line-ups, the firsts became Pierre Moerlen's Gong and the lasts Planetgong (and then New York Gong, ...). So, that's why you didn't find the two albums Shamal and Gazeuse (aka Expresso) on the Gong baistophe (ABO#015) : those ones were made without Daevid Allen, so they are more a Pierre Moerlen's Gong. Within this compilation I tried to span the whole PM's Gong discography, even including the very short Paragong live album.
For those who don't know don't be surprised. The music has got nothing to see with the original Gong music : it's purely Jazz-Rock. But it remains nice to listen
