LA VIE N'EST QU'UN MOMENT

A little bit of hip-hop has never hurt anyone for good. Although SFP and I are not really into this kind of music, we admit being truly open minded to any new sound. That was what happened when I discovered french rapper Claude "MC" Solaar. What impressed me was not really the music, although I'm mainly into it, but the words. Indeed, for a french rapper, the lyrics of his ... songs are really well crafted and often poetic. This artist really makes me like hip-hop. But don't think too fast, this french rap is very far from those shitty gangstarap. This is really sweet to hear !

I really love Prose Combat, his best album by far out of the four first ones. What is superior in Prose Combat compared to his debut effort is the music. This was just before French hip-hop became RNB with rap in it (starting in 1996-1997...), thanks to the shitty influence of Skyrock radio. There is some jazz and house music in Prose Combat, which is really neat. I guess I should thank Boom Bass and Jimmy Jay. Many hip-hop artists in France just lack decent producers, but at least Solaar doesn't.
I do agree with you for Prose Combat. The reason I took Qui Seme Le Vent on first place is just a nostalgical reason. Indeed, it reminds me so many good things
