DEAD LINKS

NOTE : DEAD LINKS
We'd like to thank everyone for preventing us of dead links. For the moment, we are note able to re-up them.

Feel free to keep on preventing us of those dead links. We will update them when we (I and Jeb-E-Diah) have more time to (understand : from september). Some of them will be partially or completely repacked considering albums which would have been issued thereafter and surely with new and improved artworks.

Stay tuned !

ALAN STIVELL (ABO#034)

ALAN STIVELL
BREZHONEG' RAOK
(1970-2006)

Brezhoneg' Raok means "Breton language first". This track name sums up very well Stivell's aim beside his music. This Brittany native musician had so long suffered from french exclusion of the breton culture. Indeed, until the end of the 70s, man couldn't have the right to speak or even teach breton language. Breton vague began early in the 70s when freedom of speech was to evolve throughout the planet. But in France, this freedom of speech had such difficulties that no one could expect anything to go further... Alan Stivell was one of the strongest heads of the liberation of breton culture and made his job so well that things moved rapidly... even if nowadays breton is no yet a official teached language.
Alan Stivell's talent was to be the first to mix any culture. Although his first 2 albums were pure traditional music, his notoriety arised with his Olympia concert LP in 1972. There he brang all together traditonal celtic music with rock music. His major influences at that time were for the celtic side of his culture : Glenmorr and the Goadec Sisters ; for the rock side, the Moody Blues and King Crimson. This last influence is the most felt on his 1973 album 'Chemin De Terre', his best work ever whose most tracks will be available here. After this great awareness to the breton culture, Stivell made different albums from purely traditional ('Treman Inis') to Exclusively experimental ('Raok Dilestra') with some albums made uniquely for his favourite instrument : the celtic harp.
