DEAD LINKS

NOTE : DEAD LINKS
We'd like to thank everyone for preventing us of dead links. For the moment, we are note able to re-up them.

Feel free to keep on preventing us of those dead links. We will update them when we (I and Jeb-E-Diah) have more time to (understand : from september). Some of them will be partially or completely repacked considering albums which would have been issued thereafter and surely with new and improved artworks.

Stay tuned !

RAINBOW (ABO #192)

RAINBOW
SELF PORTRAIT
(1975/1995)

As I'm sure many of you already know, Rainbow were an English hard rock and heavy metal band formed by former Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore in 1975. In addition to Blackmore, the band originally consisted of former Elf members; lead singer Ronnie James Dio (later to join Black Sabbath), keyboardist Mickey Lee Soule, bassist Craig Gruber, and drummer Gary Driscoll. Over the years Rainbow went through many lineup changes for better or for worse.
This compilation is a two-sided monster. The first CD displays studio works (from the remastered editions) while the other focuses on live recordings. Rainbow was a very jammy live act that is why I thought it was necessary to do so. I hope you'll enjoy it.

Too weird. I had the live version of "Man on the Silver Mountain" in my head all week long, for no particular reason. And I've never been a particular fan of Rainbow. And then here's a Baistophe on the the band. Crazy.

Great idea to break it into studio and live sides. Like the Raconteurs (at least to my ear), this band's live performance squashes their studio recordings like a grape.

Another nice comp.
