Notorious for his laid-back, rootsy style, J.J. Cale is best known for writing "After Midnight" and "Cocaine," songs that Eric Clapton later made into hits. But Cale's influence wasn't only through songwriting — his distinctly loping sense of rhythm and shuffling boogie became the blueprint for the adult-oriented roots rock of Clapton and Mark Knopfler, among others. Cale's refusal to vary the sound of his music over the course of his career caused some critics to label him as a one-trick pony, but he managed to build a dedicated cult following with his sporadically released recordings.
And so, here comes Baistophe's comprehensive introduction to the man's work. 27 tracks browsing 35 years of the loner of recording industry's career. We hope you'll enjoy it.

I´m amazed about the coincidense. I downloaded a few compilations from your blog and i´d like to have the pleasure to link you ate my list of blogs.
May i do this?
Thanks a lot and i´ll keep waiting for your answer.
Cheers!
Sure Luciana, you do that.
Also, If you feel like colaborating to BAISTOPHE, we'd be more than happy to welcome you aboard!
Brilliant. Very inspired to include "If you're ever in Oklahoma" from the Really album. Gem of a song.
I already own everything Mr. Cale has released, and this makes a nice companion. Seems to me the Travel-Log album is not represented here which is fine. Interested parties should check it out for the tune "No Time" if for no other reason.
Thanks again, Baistophe crew.
Love and regards,
Actually, there's one song from Travel Log, "Change your Mind".
I included at least one song from every studio recording.
And thanks for the kind words. :)
Aha, I stand corrected. That got by me. Okay kids, STILL go and get Travel-Log for the song "No Time"!
