DEAD LINKS

NOTE : DEAD LINKS
We'd like to thank everyone for preventing us of dead links. For the moment, we are note able to re-up them.

Feel free to keep on preventing us of those dead links. We will update them when we (I and Jeb-E-Diah) have more time to (understand : from september). Some of them will be partially or completely repacked considering albums which would have been issued thereafter and surely with new and improved artworks.

Stay tuned !

NIGHT ON BALD MOUNTAIN (VAC #008)

MODEST MUSSORGSKY'S
NIGHT ON THE BALD MOUNTAIN
(original and cover versions)

Modest Mussorgsky's A Night On Bald Mountain has always been a favourite of mine. It's a powerful and lively musical evocation of a russian legend. It's also known for its use in Walt Disney's Fantasia animated film (1940). In addition to the Mussorgsky orchestral piece, I give you covers from bands ranging from 70's Electronica (Tomita) to Jazz (Bob James), Progressive Rock (Fireballet), Folk (The Pogues, for 1987's film "Straight to Hell"), Disco (David Shire, on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack), Progressive Thrash Metal (Mekong Delta) & Cinematic Synth Music (Manheim Steamroller). Each and everyone of those versions demonstrates how rich and captivating Mussorgsky's themes are regardless of the genre used to express them... Enjoy!

Hello again ...
Y'a comme un problème avec le fichier archive : y'a que les 2 premiers morceaux qui sont ok. ça a l'air plutôt très intéressant, dommage !
et merci quand même ...

Brilliant ... had no idea what I was downloading here so played original first and remembered it from seeing Fantasia yonks ago ... then tried all the other 'varieties' ... so hard to pick a favorite as they are all quite different, but I think The Pogues stood out !?

Many thanks for sharing ... wish you could make some more like this ... my kind of music ... cheers mate

PS ... any chance of those re-ups ;)
