Really, it's ironic how I used a title that's not included in this compilation. You have to understand that there are so many great tunes on everyone of Nick Drake's three albums that hard choices had to be made... As it turns out, the songs from this compilation are not just taken from Nick's triplet, three outtakes and rarities albums have been released after his tragic death two of which included gems worthy of this selection.
So... Nick Drake. I feel there's no real need to introduce the talented folk oriented singer-songwriter he was but let's do it anyway: "Nicholas Rodney Drake (June 19, 1948 – November 25, 1974) was an English singer-songwriter and musician best known for his acoustic, autumnal songs. His primary instrument was the guitar, though he was also proficient at piano, clarinet, and saxophone. Although he failed to find a wide audience during his lifetime, Drake's work has grown steadily in stature, to the extent that he now ranks among the most influential English singer-songwriters of the last 50 years." Wikipedia pretty much sums it up, doesn't it? Now, you'll just have to enjoy the bittersweet harmonies of Mr. Nick Drake!
