DEAD LINKS

NOTE : DEAD LINKS
We'd like to thank everyone for preventing us of dead links. For the moment, we are note able to re-up them.

Feel free to keep on preventing us of those dead links. We will update them when we (I and Jeb-E-Diah) have more time to (understand : from september). Some of them will be partially or completely repacked considering albums which would have been issued thereafter and surely with new and improved artworks.

Stay tuned !

DREAM THEATER (ABO#295)

DREAM THEATER
REFLECTIONS
(1989-2009)

Dream Theater are worldwide famous for many reasons, but two of them are timeless. One : they definitely ARE one of the main driving forces behind the sustaining, then come-back of progressive rock - whether you like them or not, it is obvious that they brought prog rock and prog metal to the forefront better than anyone else. Two : they have always been, and always will be, heavily controversed. So it's not surprising that this Baistophe will surely fight some controversies too.

Compiling Dream Theater doesn't seem to be a hard task. After all, being pioneers of prog metal revival, and multi-million-copies sellers, one could just take their "greatest hits", one or two long songs, the proggiests, the most heavy, and here you go. It was already done, as the release of "Greatest (s)hit" (no pun, this is the real deal), which happened to be an epic fail. This compilation is meant to be a REAL introduction to the band, and maybe you'll think it also failed, but everything's in there : prog epics, ballads, acoustic, official singles, one of the "Muse" songs, A.A. saga, instrumentals, calm segues, "hommages", former singer, Metropolis, live renditions, John Petrucci shining moments, Kevin Moorizations...

So yes, almost everything here was very heavily edited. Some changes you might like, some you might not. But remember this : it all fits in TWO CDs, which was the main goal. You'll miss A Change of Seasons, the Zappa references in SFAM, the nightmarish mood of the splendid Disappear, but I think with this double disc you'll get a genuine overview of all that Dream Theater's known for. All they're criticized for. And all they're praised for.

RIYL : Rush, Metallica, Marillion, Muse
